ImageFor those interested, I’ve got some extra flower seeds and plants that I have no further use for and you are welcome to them.  They should be planted or otherwise used immediately or it will be too late to plant them for this year.   If you'd like to contact me for these items please use this email

Here we are, it’s halfway though June already, and my garden is finally getting plenty of sun. All that wet and overcast weather put us behind at least a month or so.  The tomatoes are looking good already.

Last year was quite a good year for my Zinnias. I grew a package of “granny zinnias” from Renee’s Garden and was quite pleased with the result. These hearty and large growing plants were quite prolific. I was getting towering plants, at least 4 feet high, and very wide as well. Once they have enough room, good soil, and enough water, they expand. A dozen or so plants is all you need to make a large border.

Heirloom grannies zinnias

I have some seeds from last years crop that has been tested and found to be quite viable. As to what the plants turn out to be, that will remain to be seen.

The dried flower pods are in great condition, and are easy to sprout. They should be used this year and June is pretty much the last chance to use them. Most of the seeds are from plants that could not be identified and are free. With this bag, the seeds are good, but there were no bloomimg flowers to identify specifically. The parents are unknown and are offered for free. You can tell the size of the flower, but that is all.

If you’re interested, I also have a small amount of zinnia seeds that are bagged according to known parents (flower size and color) as follows: pink red green orange assorted small flowers small orange.

Nasturtium Seeds

These cool yellow climbing nasturtiums also came from Renee’s Garden.

Moonlight Nasturtiums

They are beautiful and really easy to grow. The vines are easy to train to climb if desired. I have quite a few seeds left from last year.

Aloe Vera Plants

I have a corner where there is a huge aloe vera patch needs to be relocated. These are nice looking with spotted leaved and attractive pink flowers.

Aloe Vera
It’s easy to grow, just get them up with the roots intact and replant them within a week or so. I have a few that I potted for easier transplanting, too.

Philodendron

I also have a couple of these babies that were potted a few months ago. These are the window pane variety with huge leaves with holes or “windows” in them. Great tropical plant for low light areas.  Works for a large indoor plant, too.

Here's a photo of an Italian heirloom tomato that I grew last year called costoluto genovese.  I hope this year is as good!  Yum, yum!
